Mikey Freedom is a multi-disciplined artist with over 30 years experience. He has established himself as an artist and educator. His work is increasingly sought after particularly by architects, designers and restaurateurs.
As an educator for over 20 years he has lectured at universities and other institutions, sharing his love of art and inspiring students to develop their own creative potential. His approach to teaching is transformative and inspirational, encouraging students to explore their creativity in new and innovative ways.
Mikey discovered his passion for art at an early age, later studying Fine Arts & Secondary Education, where he honed his skills in painting, drawing, and other forms of visual art. With a foundation in 1980’s graffiti/street art, he took on new projects requiring management skills , adding a new dimension to his work which proved to be an essential part of his professional practice today.
Throughout his career, Mikey has created a diverse range of works, spanning multiple mediums, including oil painting, digital art, mural painting, sculpture, cutouts, and collage. His ability to adapt to different mediums and styles has allowed him to create highly unique and engaging pieces, which have earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and versatile artist.
Mikey has exhibited his works in numerous galleries, & his work featured on permanent display in numerous high-profile restaurants and buildings, creating beautiful and engaging spaces. He has also created artwork for a number of notable brands, including Campari, which has further cemented his status.

Art Class Description
In the last two decades of Henri Matisse’s life he turned to a few simple materials to realise a new medium, the cutout. With a pair of scissors & paper, as a dancer would upon a floor, he ‘swivelled’ & turned his blades to draw, cut & form a new artistic vision. This workshop seeks to share & enable this spirit of creativity to continue & grow - in you, the student.
Mikey Freedom will guide you through the process of creating your own cutouts, teaching you how to use line, shape, and colour to create art in dynamic ways. You'll learn how to create pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful, exploring new techniques and finding new artistic freedom along the way.
