Art Class Description

This workshop is open to all levels of experience. Perfect for beginners!

Long time resident of Italy, Christine Webb brings her unique and colourful view of the Interior Landscape to our course. Her vibrant teaching and breadth of knowledge of Italian Art History will create an exceptional learning experience. Students will start with the discussion of the interior in the history of art followed by and understanding of composition, perspective and colour theory before embarking on a painting with sound drawing and painting techniques.

“I return to the open window; a passage of being inside and outside all at once, the ceramic jug; the female form and holder of nurturing liquid, the chair; the personal being, the patterned carpet; the magically coloured foundation of my places of peace.”

Christine studied at Sydney College of the Arts, and her career has followed many different avenues such as magazine design and publishing, photography and journalism. in 2000 Christine and her family moved from Australia to the village of Citerna in northern Umbria where they lived for 12 years. She now divides her time between studios in Sydney and Italy. Christine has exhibited both in Australia and internationally. Her work appears in both private and corporate collections worldwide.
