Art Class Italy has teamed up with The Language Center in Todi to provide an exciting cooking based language short course. Established in 1988 the Language Center is a school that teaches hundreds of students each year and has a number of programs on offer.
We approached Stefania Belli, Director of the Language Center and asked her if she could provide a short course for companions of ACI students as a fun activity which was themed around the subject of cooking, buying supplies and shopping and ordering food at Italian restaurants.
Cooking and learning different Italian recipes and techniques are better taught by Italians as is Italian language - words and phrases that relate to an authentically Italian activity.
We also had the experience of shopping at a supermarket in Todi that was quite a revelation. Wonderful fresh food and wine on offer alongside some home made dishes for takeaway consumption that would have been proudly served in any Australian restaurant. Comparatively, food bought this way is inexpensive but it always helps to know what you are buying and have some idea how it might have been made or how it should be served.
The Class Program
Stefania has come up with a very reasonably priced offer that includes 4 days of classes. Each day has Italian language classes in the morning and then an excursion in the afternoon.
The excursions include (but are not mandatory)
The cost of the program is A$778* or 500 Euro (not including restaurant meals and museum/church entry fees). There is separate day availability but a minimum of 4 participants.
