Hosts Stephen and Christine, travelled to Todi in May to launch the classes with two teachers.
These classes were designed to “test run” the logistics of the classes and gauge the environment services being offered.
The weather was warm and comfortable in the morning and quite hot in the afternoon. The studio performed well with many students utilising the verandah area to catch the breeze. The equipment and materials purchased locally are of a high quality.
More importantly our teachers did a great job, with Robert Kleinboonschate a standout performer teaching 13 participants in his class.
Many of our participants were beginners and Robert’s approach with them was just right…
Janie said “ Robert was hands-on and inspirational. His class was well organised and well structured. He was tireless and enthusiastic with all levels.”
Valda said “ Robert handled it well...by helping people see how freely and playfully he could work with colour , never allowing himself to get stressed by an obsession with perfection”
Louise said “ Robert was kind and positive, and very generous with his time and expertise. A great opportunity to learn from someone so skilled and inspired”.
Robert has a 40 year career as a professional artist and has been teaching for over 20 years. He is a minor celebrity in Todi as a result of the exhibition of his works in the Permanente/Transitorio exhibition of his works in Todi August 2021 for the annual Arte Festivale.
